Azerbaijanís fiber to home program gets first investor
Baku, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijanís broadband service program (fiber to the home) has got its first investor.
The Ministry of Communications & High Technologies (RYTN) informs that Amsterdam Trade Bank N.V. gave a $13.7 million euro for these ends.
Within this part of the program the agreements on the supply of equipment for the development of broadband services in the cities of Sumgait and Ganja, and the Absheron, Zagatala, Shamkir, Khachmaz, Goygol, Agdam, Barda and Terter regions have been concluded.
The total amount of fiber to home is about $500 million. The State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan did not want to finance it because of the negative external environment.
