Azerbaijan, Montenegro discuss new areas of cooperation in ICT field
The Ministry of Communications and High Technologies (MCHT) has held a meeting with a delegation headed by Minister of Science of the Republic of Montenegro Ms Sanja Vlahovic.
Welcoming the guests, Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizadeh said that high level relations between the two countries open up good opportunities for cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT). In turn, Minister Sanja Vlahovic said that she was in Azerbaijan two years ago and expressed interest in expanding ties in the field of ICT and scientific research.
Speaking about the activities carried out in the country’s ICT field in the last two years, Elmir Velizadeh said the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies (MCHT) was established on the basis of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies by the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated March 2, 2014 and scope of activities of the ministry was expanded, new important tasks were set before it.
It was noted that currently two research centers the Research Centre for High Technologies and the National Center for Nuclear Research carry out activities under the ministry. The Deputy Minister informed the guests about the formation of e-government in the country, the development of e-services saying cyber security and other fields are constantly in the spotlight of the ministry, stressed the availability of opportunities for mutual cooperation. Saying the development of high-tech parks is supported by the state and to this end appropriate privileges are provided, Elmir Velizadeh stressed the importance of using these opportunities by Montenegrin companies.
In turn, Montenegrin Minister spoke about the expansion of relations in the field of ICT. She also noted that the activities carried out in Montenegro correspond to the experience of Azerbaijan, spoke about the development of technology parks, including measures for personnel training in biotechnology, agricultural technology, energy resources and oil sector. She expressed interest in cooperation with Azerbaijan and proposed holding forums and seminars to discuss the mentioned and other possible areas.
Sanja Vlahovic said the relations between the two countries entered a new stage of development. She also noted that in the future the effective cooperation will open up new opportunities for successful development of relations in other fields of mutual interest.
