Top News23.05.2015 12:22 Azerbaijan ICT experience rated high at Tallinn - ICT Week 2015
Traditional ICT Week 2015 taking place this week in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia is one of the year’s largest information and communication technologies (ICT) events. During the event, which lasts a whole week experts working in the field of ICT from different parts of the world, representatives of public and private sectors had the opportunity to exchange views and establish new relations, as well as familiarize themselves with the latest developments in the field of ICT in the public and private sector. Azerbaijan at the event is represented by a large delegation. The delegation, headed by Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizadeh, includes representatives from MCHT, State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ASAN service), ADA University, BEST Solutions, Microsoft Azerbaijan and other organizations. One of the main events taking place in the framework of ICT Week 2015 was an international conference on e-government (e-Governance Conference Tallinn 2015). The conference, organized by the Estonian e-Governance Academy and dedicated to the issues of effective e-governance, was attended by professionals on e-governance, cyber security and high-ranking officials from 36 countries, as well as representatives of international organizations, business sector and civil society. Addressing the opening ceremony of the event, Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves described it as a suitable venue for the discussion of brilliant ideas. Note that, seminars were organized at the conferences took place during the week which focused on the topics, such as the future of e-services, e-government models in the Eastern Partnership countries, cyber security in the context of e-government, establishment of e-parking infrastructure in cities etc. Azerbaijan’s achievements in the field of ICT and its experience related to new services was listed as one of the best international practices in creation of innovative services. During the conference, the participants were presented information booklet “Azerbaijan – developing an effective e-governance for citizens” and web resource (www.azerbaijanbestpractice.com) entitled “Best experience of Azerbaijan” by conference organizers. The information resources contain reviews on ongoing reforms in Azerbaijan in the field of e-government, social related services rendered to citizens and cyber security issues, as well as data about indicators of the country on e-governance and ICT.
